3 Wheeler Buggies
A three-wheeled buggy is perfect for off-road terrain and offers an easy ride for babies. Weight
If you're looking for a vehicle that can handle the tough terrain then you want one with large wheels. They can handle grass, cobbles and dirt tracks, and provide a smooth ride for any passenger. They are also ideal for jogging, as they have built-in suspension and are easy to climb up and down kerbs. However, the drawback is that they can be quite heavy to push.
The Mountain Buggy Urban Glide 2 is the best 3 wheel buggy you can use on rough terrain (pictured above). This 3-wheeler is highly maneuverable due to its 16 rear wheels as well as the front wheel can be locked. It comes with air tyres that require occasional pumping and can hold a child up to the age of 3. MFM reviewer Kath said that her toddler liked the shape of the seat, and she found it easy to steer even with her 3-year-old on the seat.

Fabric slings are positioned within the frame and not on top as modular seats. This model has a lower centre-of-gravity at the ideal height. It is easier to push, and lighter to kerb pop (you don't know how many times you will do that as a brand new parent!).
Seating
The capacity for seating of 3 wheelers is impressive and there are many different choices to choose from. For babies, there is the option to use the included carrycot and (which MFM reviewer Alice says is a comfortable and cozy lying flat bed that can be used on and off the buggy) and older infants and toddlers can be seated in the parent-facing or world-facing seat that is spacious and padded and does have adjustable ventilation. It's important to note that these seats don't recline fully however they can be adjusted to the lowest position which should still give your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.
A sling made of fabric is also available. It has the advantage that it is positioned inside the frame, instead of on top as a seat that is modular. This means that it has a lower centre of gravity, with a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, particularly over bumpy terrain and curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this type of seat dealt with obstacles.
In addition to a big shopping basket, this kind of buggy typically has some very useful features like an extendable 50+ UV hood, a simple brake pedal, and a few games-changing visibility lights that come up from the handlebar and can be placed directly in front of the occupants to improve their safety when traversing difficult terrain.

Storage

MFM's reviewers have discovered that the 3-wheeler frame can't fit through all the doors in their homes, or small car booties - make sure to check the dimensions of the buggy when it's folded prior to purchasing in case you're concerned about space.
It's worth looking for an SUV with three wheels that can fit 2 (or even 3!) This is the best choice for your future and will save you money. The iCandy Strawberry Sport is one of the most well-known. It can be used from the day of birth as a single buggie and later transformed into twin buggies when your baby begins walking.
Tyres
These tires cushion bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's journey more comfortable. They are typically used on pushchairs such as the Phil and Ted's Sport that MFM reviewer Kath said provided "an outstanding ride for her toddler". She also said that the grippy tyres of the Phil & Ted's Sport made it easier for her to maneuver around the kerbs as well as other obstacles.
These tyres are sometimes difficult to maintain and will need to have their air pressure maintained regularly. These tyres are more susceptible to punctures, so it is recommended to always carry a repair kit as well as an spare inner tube with you when you're out and out and about.
PU tyres are found on a lot more pushchairs than air-filled tyres, but they are still just as durable. PU tires are easily distinguished by their matte finish and soft feel. They also slide over smooth and tidy surfaces.
